Best sandals EVER!!!,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Rainbow Sandals Men's Double Layer Leather Sandal (Apparel)
My second pair!!! My first pair lasted about 7 years and I wore them A LOT. I wear these a lot also and I absolutely love them. Hands down the best.
ADVISE: When you get them, soak them in warm water and then wear them around until they dry out. Do this at least 3-4 times to break them in. If you do this they will be your best friend.
I know you aren't supposed to use any products on them (cause they say so) but I used a quality glycerin leather saddle cleaner/leather softener. I really spent some time working it into the sandals and then I wore them around until they dried out and did that a couple times.

Do you clean them with saddle soap regularly? Or did you just do this when they were new to "condition" them?
I have a pair of leather Rainbows and I love them, but after about two years of solid use, they have developed a formidable aroma. I haven't read many good recommendations on how to clean them, and I was considering using saddle soap for this.

I have used saddle soap for cleaning after the initial conditioning and it never fails. It does a thorough cleaning and re-conditions them all over again. Just use a soft bristled brush.

I don't recommend soaking them in water ever. No offence to the original poster if that works for you great. I have been wearing rainbows for almost 20 years, I find it best to let them break in naturally.
