No "Dead Dog Records," No Reinstatement of Music,
This review is from: Wiseguy: The Collector's Edition (Seasons 1- 4) (DVD)Just an FYI. Buyer beware.
Mill Creek won't be issuing versions w/ the original songs -- and they won't be shelling out the bucks for music rights to the Dead Dog Records arc (hence they simply aren't including those episodes at all.
If that's not a big deal to you, go for it.

That is good to know, but from what I can tell, you can't find the Dead Dog Records arc anywhere

I remember taping it off either Court TV or a local channel, I am going to see if I still have that tape.

G. H. Giroux says:
Anyone know what other episodes might be missing? If you consider each episode, say, 50 mintes long (without commericals), then the 1,400 minutes only translates to 28 episodes, and even without Dead Dog, that wouldn't cover three years.

J. Herman says:
Per the tvshowsondvd.com website, who contacted Mill Creek (the studio releasing this set), the set will feature every episode of the series (all 4 seasons) except the Dead Dog Records arc from season 2 due to the high music costs involved with that set of episodes. The run time listed here is incorrect.

I do not have to look for my taped copies, I found someone who is about to ship me a DVD copy any second now ;-)

They should release the DDR arc without the original music. While this is not the ideal solution, we would get all of the episodes of the show and not have a lacuna in the middle of S2.

A question: Will it include the Steven Bauer episodes of the final (whimpering) season? They're just ok, but I'm a completist at heart.

In reply to your first reply, Craze, word was that unlike the last Steelgrave episode, they could not do so without damaging the storyline as well. Therefore they can not release the arc. However, I solved that problem thanks to a "local seller" who made me a nice offer. As for your second question, it has already been answered. With the 4th season included, the episode count was 75, the number of episodes in Dead Dog is 7 (Call It Casaba is in their books as a stand alone episode). The last time I looked 75 - 7 = 68, which is the count Mill Creek is pitching.

What exactly is "the original music"? I loved that arc, but it's been a while...
