i must concur with T. Kandil. you've just sold me on this machine as I too plan on using it for my computer programming classes. my current Asus S96J is too bulky and has too short a battery life.

you covered things that most reviewers did not cover like the ease of connectivity to a bigger res monitor. thanks, im planning to buy this too.

Jorge, that was great. Thanks a lot. One question: for the memory upgrade to 2GB, did you get the seller to do that, or did you do it yourself? If you did it yourself, are there two slots, one with 1GB, and the other empty? Or do they both have 512 MB, and you have to throw them away? Thanks...

there is only one slot that comes with the 1G. I did it myself. I'm not aware of anyone who sales it with the 2Gs. But the upgrade was easy.

I wonder if I can run Ubuntu8.04 on this machine and if anyone has done it without much of an hassle.

for a computer programmer, I'm surprised you have trouble counting your zeros! you referred to the machine as a "ten thousand h" a few times, but otherwise it was a great review :)
