New design is a messy mess,
This review is from: Pyrex Prepware 1-Quart Measuring Cup, Clear with Red Measurements (Kitchen)
I have been using pyrex brand for years. The new measuring cups are a bad design. They measure fine until you need to empty the contents out. The new and improved spout spills all down the front and all over the counter, stove, or floor no matter how fast or slow you pour it.
I have a 1 cup, 2 cup, 4 cup, 6 cup, and 8 cup, they are all messy to use. I have lost or broken my old ones and noticed the new design and did not know it would be such a pain. I contacted Pyrex and they told me that they test them out and have not had any complaints. I love their other products but I am trying out other brands of measuring cups. I just hate making an unnecessary mess on top of my mess.

Clearly, Pyrex can't be bothered to read customer reviews.

Mister V says:
Absolutely true. The new pour spout is not nearly as deep as the older version.
That design change was a big mistake and apparently never tested in the real world.
It probably would cost them a lot of money to correct it in their factories so I won't hold my breath for a 'fix'.
Until Pyrex fixes that problem I would not buy their product.

I knew I should have read some reviews before buying one. Well, I am using this when making non-dairy milk such as almond and oat milk using this nut milk bag Top Chef Quality Nut Milk Bag - Large 12"x10" Professional Grade - Reusable Fine Mesh Food Strainers - Cold Brew Coffee and Tea Strainers - Makes Juices and Milk Substitutes - Free Recipes that I got a few weeks ago. I make a lot of mess even without this cup :)

came here looking for a replacement for my store bought pyrex. This is exactly the reason I'm trying to replace it!

The OXO brand is good, its plastic but has lasted a few years, it has spider cracks but does not leak or slop all over the counter.

My review explains the problem with the spout. Yes, it is terrible. You can pour cleanly if you pour really slow because the spout is too narrow and creates turbulence if liquids move too quickly through it. Buy the Anchor Hocking brand. They are very good. Photos in my review show the differences.

Hey TESLA thanks for that suggestion! I will try that brand. I bought the OXO and they are great for about a year then the plastic gets micro cracks in it. I think they don't care for auto dishwashers but I'm too lazy to wash them by hand.

Yep! I thought I was just clumsy for some time but after inspecting the Anchor Hocking cup, I noticed the big difference in spouts.
