This review is from: Pronoia Is the Antidote for Paranoia: How the Whole World Is Conspiring to Shower You with Blessings (Paperback)
Brezsny is full of rowdy blessings, all right. Pronoia is a very nice VOLUME of writing. But while every chapter has some gems, I had to wade through heaps of smarmy sentiments and extraneous exercises. I became paranoid that I lacked the creativity required to reinvent self. Which led to the sour grapes thinking that even if I did have the requisite creativity, my reinvented self would most likely be a self-involved-pain-the-butt.

Then again, a few of Rob's gems can well be worth the "wade." I recommend it in small doses. Maybe I read too much, too fast. Maybe I am unfairly comparing Breszny to the Ken Wilber I was also reading. Brezsny flames and Wilber glows.

All in all, if you love Rob's Freewill Astrology, you are going to love a lot of this too.

I don't think Breszny is attempting to be serious. Ever. Comparing him to Wilber is maybe missing the point of both authors. Like comparing Robin Williams with the Dalai Lama? Apples and oranges? Rob is a spiritually-oriented comedian, which apparently makes HIM laugh, if not "schism".
