5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Foil Shavers, December 27, 2007
This review is from: Panasonic ES8109S Men's 3-Blade (Arc 3) Wet/Dry Nanotech Rechargeable Electric Shaver with Vortex Cleaning System, Silver (Health and Beauty)
I've been using this Panasonic electric shaver with nano blade technology (ES8228 or ES8109S) for the past 2 months and love it. Without exaggeration, it gives me the closest shave ever, and I've been using the top of the line electrics from Norleco and Braun for over 20 years. I have compared the Panasonic shaver with nano blades with the Braun Pulsonic and Norelco Arcitec and found that the Panasonic gives me the closest shave. Dry shaving will also give you a close shave. You won't regret this foil beauty, and you can't beat the price.

Snow Wolf says: "I've been using this Panasonic electric shaver with nano blade technology (ES8228 or ES8109) for the past 2 months and love it."

Although both shavers (ES8228 and ES8109) have nano blade technology, there appears to be a marked difference in quality between the two. I refer to another poster at Amazon by the name of Klopus (I'm not Klopus - he's not even my brother-in-law!) whose review is of the Panasonic ES8168. But read his sixth paragraph, the one that starts with the words "Then I realized ..."

The consumer might want to keep the thoughts expressed by Klopus in mind when deciding between the ES8228 and the ES8109. The ES8109 is considerably less expensive than the ES8228. Usually in this world, you get what you pay for.

i seem unable to figure out what the 8228 has that the 8109 doesn't.
does anyone actually know if there are any tangible differences, except for the woodgrain?
i have looked at both side by side and still cannot tell.
