Waste of time,
This review is from: Sungudogo (Kindle Edition)
Pros: Intriguing story
Cons: Appalling writing, terrible grammar, atrocious story telling.
I cannot believe that this is getting 'honest' 5* reviews. As an extremely avid reader I have encountered some fairly poorly written books in my time - even a self-published one written by a 13 year old.
Laden's takes the cake.
You'd expect a bit more from an adult, and particularly from a learned professor.
The characters were generic and wooden, the prose was child-like, and the descriptions left more than a lot to be desired. Rarely am I incensed enough to write a review, but this was worth warning people about.
I'm not being mean and giving it only 1* because this type of book was not for me, I've read Twilight (a series that I despise) and considered it at least 3* due to its readability and story. The only explanation I can think of for the glowing reviews are that: a) It's an acquired taste, b) Some people can see past the weak prose, c) They are written by his supportive friends/influenced by the appeal to charity.
