Don't see what all the fuss was about.,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lomography Diana F+ Instant Back(Black) (Electronics)
After seeing the 1 star reviews, I got paranoid about Super difficult exposures, and jams.
I ran through my first pack and didn't have anything jam on me just yet. The instruction manual stated that the reduced capturing area meant the viewfinder would be larger than the picture. But I wear glasses and the instant back itself gets in the way, so in a way the viewfinder captures only the very center 2/5ths of the image, much less if you change the lens to anything but the 110mm telephoto.
A flash is necessary for most situations with this. I use the hotshoe adapter and a cheap $12 flashgun.
Instax gives no film latitude, shadows are way too dark, highlights are blown but not as bad, thank goodness. It still has that white space, and it's such a shame this back doesn't have a sharpie holder.
As others have said, I wouldn't pay the full price for this unless you know you'll be using it. And even then, the Instax Mini 7s is actually cheaper (and I guess more reliable) than this. Buy it only if you already have a diana.
At best photos cost $0.70 per shot, which is still cheaper than develop and print for medium format.
