Should have stayed with Black and Decker,
This review is from: Remington TB5024TH 24-Inch Dual Action Titanium Coated 5-Amp 3/4-Inch Cut 180-Degree Rotating Handle Electric Hedge Trimmer (Lawn & Patio)
So I bought this as a work horse to supplement my B&D 16".. I chose the Remington because that was all that Menards had on the shelf in a large corded hedge trimmer. Turned out that my 16" Black and Decker got more work done in less time due to the design of this thing.
Turns out the guy that engineered this thing never used it.. I can appreciate safety but this is a fail. Both hands must be on trimmer (one on trigger the other on a two piece safety bar). The safety is far too tough to keep engaged for any type of long or awkward job. (I ended up using a zip tie on the thing defeating the purpose of the safety anyway).
Second, what ever powers the blades (gear box) is a double fail. If you get in to anything tough, both blades start moving together until you release the trigger and let the thing stop. I do not know if this was some secondary safety or just poor design.
I took the thing back and got what I should have in the first place (Black & Decker HH2450)
