Gorgeous Dress Watch,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Citizen Men's AU1065-07E Eco-Drive Axiom Watch with Black Leather Band (Watch)
Beautiful dress watch. Thin and very minimalist with only the slim minute and hour hand, silver marker at 12 o'clock and small date (but big enough to read). The strap attachment is unique with a metal link attaching to the leather strap attaching to the watch. Love the all black look with just hints of silver (buckle, crown, 12 o'clock marker). The hands look silver in the picture, but to me they seem more of a dark gray. They are very shiny/reflective and can be seen in a low light environment. Love the Eco-Drive! No batteries, no winding, no worries.
The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the strap. It says genuine leather. It also says "Band-Thailand". Hard to describe what I don't like about it. It's almost like the top piece is not bonded properly to the bottom piece, so it sort of wrinkles a bit when you flex the band, Not a big deal, as long as it lasts. I think given the unique design an aftermarket strap will be hard to come by...

William Bain says:
It isn't only the picture that makes it look like the hands should be silver; it says in plain English in the description that the hands are silver-tone. If the hands are black on the one you have, it almost seems like they sent you another similar model. There's at least one they make with an identical case mated to a metal band, but the hands ARE black. And Citizen appears to offer hundreds of similar watches with minor variations in style. I'm obsessing on this because if the hands are black on the watch, it's going to very hard to read at night, in a place with atmospheric lighting, which is where you would wear a watch like this. Black hands would be a deal-breaker for me. Can you read it when you're out at night, SteveRRRR?

Hi William. I think I need to revise the review. It's more like a dark gray, but but very reflective. I might need to turn it slightly to get an angle but I can read it it even by candlelight.
