4.0 out of 5 stars It was better in the first half, May 8, 2009
This review is from: Heroes: Season 3 (DVD)
Some Spoilers: Heroes season 3 stuffs so much in one season that it felt like 2 seasons in one. The first half was better though. How Sylar was used in the first half was brilliant. While the season could have used more of Robert Forster (Jackie Brown) in the 2nd half and he should have been in the series longer. He was fantastic as the Petrali father who wasn't really dead. He's evil and can steal powers by just touching people with abilities. He has a plan to give humans powers and is trying to have a drug created that can do that.

I didn't like how key characters lost their powers though. The season would have been better if Hiro and Peter had there's for example. I like Peter more when he's just as powerful as Sylar. The 2nd half was good and had it's moments but even the season finale wasn't as good as it could have been. It was a brain twister but not even one that made sense, since Claire's blood could have just been used or Sylar's. That's all I'll say about that. But it does make you at least interested in seeing what will happen next.

I thought the same thing about using Claire's blood. I won't spoil it either, but what the heck?

Yeah the ending was flawed.

Claire was in another country and why would Sylar help them?

huh ? Did you even see the end ? Claire was hostage by Sylar and Peter with Nathan came to the rescue. Sylar killed Nathan but some how Peter and Claire missed that. Peter knocked out Sylar, so they could have used Sylar's blood then for Nathan. Anyway Claire and Peter weren't even present when Matt used mind control to get Sylar to become Nathan and think he is him. It didn't make sense that they weren't there since moments before that Peter was the one that knocked out Sylar with a needle.

It wasn't just Claire's blood that was in Suresh's concoction. They would've needed to locate the good doctor to help, but by then it might've been too late. I always assumed that as long as the body remains warm, they could comeback (The exception being Sylar, Claire, or Peter with the regeneration themselves). Just an assumption on my part. Plus, they also did not want to risk the truth of Nathan's death getting out, so they decided that this was the only logical solution. A somewhat ridiculous one, but logical at the same time.

I personally loved seasons 1 and 2. Season 3 was like baby Matt Parkman for me... touch and go. I hated that Peter and Hiro lost their powers. I get it, but I just didn't like it. The part I really loved is when they released the level 5 villains to go up against Sylar. I wish they could've shown more of that. I also liked the government rounding people with abilities. It was almost reminiscent of the Marvel Civil War. Just my thoughts.
