BEWARE THE NEGLECTFUL DEVELOPER!!,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Max Payne 3: The Complete Edition [Online Game Code] (Software Download)
I would give this game a better rating if I could even get onto the game.
After downloading the 30+ Gb of data, I ran into a bug that prevents me from logging onto Rockstar Game's Social Club, and, stupidly, it doesn't let you past the start screen if you're not logged in!
I'm not the only person to experience this. In fact, there are many, many complaints (spanning from the day of release to now) of players not being able to log in. If you get this game be aware that you may be one of them.
Fortunately for me, I only paid $6.00, so £4.50; for basically 30 gb of wasted hard drive, the realization that Rockstar are idiots who don't care for their community, and a headache. I pity anyone who is considering forking out the full price for this game.

Rockstar has been sloppy and negligent in the past with DRM and that's what's kept me from purchasing from them since. Back in the Max Payne 2 days, I got my first DVD burner. Guess what, they're wonderful DRM wouldn't recognize the disk and thus shut me down from playing; met every single system requirement and worked with the computer's original drive. After time with their tech guys, who just told me to take it to a friend's house to play, they quite responding and would do nothing for me. It's tempting at the highly discounted sale now to take the risk, but still half expect to just waste the money if I do. In my experience, once they have your money they don't care about you. Thanks for the warning.

This happened to me as well. I tried for several hours, installing patches, updates, etc. No success. I haven't had a problem with any other game in the past 4 years on my current PC. I will not buy another Rockstar game on PC again.

Have you checked the steam forums for a solution. You may want to try this,
"Well i just had some great luck
I loged into to the Social Club on the Rockstar Games website.
I hadn't fully created my account it seemed and once I had made the necessary changes, I restarted the game through Steam.
Logged into Social Club (where it was stuck for me), matched my accounts, put the key in and the game works fine. Played a couple of chapters and exited and reloaded the game a few times to make sure it still works.
Hope this helps!"

I've pushed there tech support and they basically told me to download a portion of the bootleg version. The crack that basically strips out the DRM and ignores the Social Club requirement.

I was going to buy this but once I went to pay and download it clearly shows that this is only an online code, NOT THE GAME and online codes it advertises! everyone keeps saying they got the game when purchasing this bundle, and states they got a 30gb file, but the file download on this so called game is only 3kb and another 3kb... hardly the 30gb game file ??? so even the description on the bottom clearly states it is the GAME, but not with a file size of only 6kb it's not!
wow , can you say SCAM !!!!

You have to download it from Steam. It says so at the top by DRM. If you are not familiar with Steam, it is free to download. They have a ton of games that all tie into one account that you create.
