3.0 out of 5 stars Drum units wear out too fast., April 20, 2013
By
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Brother DR310CL Drum Unit for MFC-9460CDN, MFC-9560CDW and MFC-9970CDW (Office Product)
Brother's drum unit wears out far to quickly (less than a year, and a very low print count). Be careful.

Yes they do wear out way to fast. Total page count was nearly 7700. Of course 3000 of that was duplexed. So less than 11000 one sided 8.5 x 11 pages and the black drum unit is leaving light vertical line smudges on the entire document as though the paper was black. Like most other printers these days it is cheap to purchase, where as the consumables are expensive and don't last nearly what their rated life is.

My experience is quite different.

It took almost 4-years for my Brother drum to wear out, and many thousands of pages.

In fact it's not quite yet worn out - it's never been replaced. But it's due to be replaced in the next 4-5 weeks.
