This review is from: Nikon 7295 Monarch ATB 10x42 Binocular (Electronics)
These binoculars are mostly just like the old Nikon Monarchs, with maybe just a little more light in low light conditions. An excellent pair of binoculars for the price, five years ago binoculars of this quality would have been more like $500-600. An especially cool feature of all the Nikon Monarchs is the close focus distance, which with my eyes is probably even a little under four feet. If you like looking at butterflies and dragonflies as well as birds, these binoculars are an excellent choice for their price tag.

Absolutely agree with Thornton; several years ago these were competitive with the top A-level Germans; those have hit new highs and raised the bar, too. The Chinese have entered the game and their center focus mechanisms are as smooth as silk and the Zen-Ray bins almost feel like they have hydraulic assist they are so smooth. I think it's because they machine their center focus mechanism well. Their lenses and coatings are good; These are good, too. Zeiss and Leica still are brighter and clearer; you'll pay 3X more for an 8X42 in those; then the Minox HG line is almost just as good, and not as expensive. They are built on magnesium chassis, too, and are so light that they can be held to the eye with very little shake and keeps the image rock steady even for hands that are not steady. A monopod with a special bracket (I think Vortex VT400) makes the attachment screwing into the threaded end just below the center focus can take 10X and above bins and give one tripod-like steadines without the setup hassel of a tripod. I just verified the maker and the model no for that gizmo "L" bracket ~$30 or so. The Eye relief on each of those bins are pleasant for eyeglass wearers.
