All out Blaze-Great Shoe!,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Merrell Men's All Out Blaze Hiking Shoe (Shoes)
I have looked for over a year for a hiking shoe that is great as a day hiker and a day shoe while traveling. This shoe is comfortable right out of the box. I have tried and was unhappy with the Moab ventillator (uncomfortable heel cup and not durable at all; the uppers were ripped after 1 day of scrambling on rocks in Montana ) as well as the North Face Hedgehog 3 (poor design and very uncomfortable upper shoe strapping and material). Both of those shoes were highly rated.
The allout blaze is flexible but supportive. The toe box is nice and wide. The upper material is flexible and supple with no hot spots. The shoe is comfortable with no break in period. When walking downhill , toes do not jam into the toe box. Traction is great. Overall an outstanding day hiker and casual shoe. My Merrell Mid hiking boots will still be my go to boots for backpacking but who needs full boots for casual hiking, walking, and traveling?

great review. I'm a big fan of Merrell. One question... how much do they weigh (in oz. each). I'm seeing different weights reported and no breakdown of whether it's by pair or 1/2 pair. Thanks.

Thanks for commenting on the toe box. I cannot wear shoes, esp. hiking shoes, that give me no room for wiggling my toes.
