Rocksmith PC requires Steam.,
This review is from: Rocksmith [Download] (Software Download)
Sadly enough I cancelled my order of Rocksmith in lieu of a local copy because amazon seemed to be slacking on the distribution for whatever reason. I preordered this copy from amazon because it was previously stated by UBI that they had gone away from their DRM BS. Turns out that is not the case, and now I find out AFTER release that I miss out on the free DLC by not preordering with Steam so I can get a DRM free version because UBIsoft did not state that Rocksmith PC will use Steam. As a matter of fact Ubi's website denied that they were even releasing Rocksmith for PC until after release. Anything else you might want to screw your general consumers with concerning information about the god awefully expensive software you are selling? Fairly disappointed and as yet still don't have my own copy. What a failtastic ordeal.

I have been looking forward to this software, and your comments about distribution and DRM are worth noting. But, it would have been more helpful if you had attached them to a legitimate review of the product.

C. Landers says:
Unfortunately some folk feel so entitled they will rate a game down without ever playing the game as in this case. They need to learn the difference between a whining blog post and an actual review.
You should only be able to make a "rating" if you have a purchase of that product in your account history.
This individual is down-rating the software not based on the merits of the game but instead on their inability to comprehend and decipher company policy regarding the game.
Again, the down-rater did NOT play the game nor review it, he simply is making a complaint that has no bearing here and that should of been communicated in private with the company if he actually had a legitimate gripe.

Ubi clearly stated that this game requires Steam to activate, when they announced the PC release they stated again that it is a steamworks game. It is your fault for not paying attention.

How in the world could Steam possibly make any game unplayable? I am convinced you have 0 idea of how Steam works. Steam is not a platform, it is a software store. Games do not "run on Steam." The most involvement it has with a game is the achievement system and cloud sync. Steam does not even have to be running to run a game bought from Steam.

Just get steam it isn't that hard. Play the game and then give me a review But until then remove your post.

This is plain idiotic. Rate the game based on what it is and not that it requires steam. Steam has been around for a long time, and they have a lot to lose if they were as bad as you claim.
