2.0 out of 5 stars Bad fit. Top rolls down. Bottom rides up., July 9, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Jockey Women's Skimmies® Slipshort Light Boy Shorts (Apparel)
I bought these "slipshorts" to help me with summer chub-rub, because hey, girls with nontrivial thighs like to wear skirts in the heat, too.

I'll admit I do have an unusually short rise, but these shorts come all the way up *almost* to my bra strap. There is no way they actually sit below the belly button of any normal-shaped person. You can't simply hike them up that high, though, because they won't stay -- the waist rolls down. Okay, you can sort of slouch them down to waist level without causing too much unsightly bunching, so I can live with that part.

The problem for me is that there is no "grip strip" around the bottoms, which would have vastly improved the usefulness of these shorts. If left unchecked, the legs keep riding up and up until finally they're firmly lodged in your crotch and your thighs are back to nuzzling each other into a sweaty blistery frenzy.

I guess there are some good things about these shorts: they are extremely stretchy and so you can slouch them into whatever shape you need them to fit your waist and crotch -- and they aren't super squeezy, forcing you to feel like a sausage when you wear them. Since they're not doing what I bought them for, though, I'm going to keep looking for something better.

*Edit: I just tried the Bali Women's Slim Couture Thigh Slimmer Short and found them superior in every way: silkier fabric; better fit (especially rise-height); and they stay put without rolling down at the top or riding up at the bottom. So there's an alternative for anyone else who's had the same problems I have.

Thanks for a quite humorous but informative review. Made me laugh. Like other commenters, I also thank you for the info about the Bali product.

Does the Bali squeeze you so that after a few hours you feel like you are getting pinched in half?

Sadly those Bali shorts are unavailable here on Amazon now (not sure whether they're still in production) but you can read my review of them at the link above; I hope it helps you if you find those shorts somewhere else. They're just tight-yet-stretchy enough not to sag or bunch up -- not squeezy.

I agree with this review 100%. I am so annoyed with the roll-up legs and roll down top that I contacted Jockey. Usually I love Jockey products but this is a big disappointment.

If you have issues with these riding up or rolling down its likely because the size you bought is too small. I bought these in 2 sizes - one ( the smaller) rides up & is not comfortable but the larger correct size stays in place & is very comfortable

I have never had an issue with riding up or rolling down and I have had that issue with other products. Just don't want everyone to think this is an issue for everyone.
