not so Merry Christmas,
This review is from: Merry Christmas, Alex Cross (Kindle Edition)
What a rip-off book.. I think these are a combo of 3 different stories...I got past the first one and the middle of the second one before I tossed the kindle down in disgust. I think J.P should hang up his pen. Alex Cross comes off as a whipped husband and grand-son. Also please advertise this book as short stories.

I totally agree. I did make it through the entire trio as it were. I would forgive him the opening story if the rest of the book was an entire novel. This was one short story and two novellas. Boo.

I'm done with Patterson - no more Patterson. I stopped reading Patterson books a couple of years ago when they were written by someone else and he just put his name on it. This one, MERRY CHRISTMAS ALEX CROSS, has only his name as author so I thought it might be good. It is pure junk. Not worth the paper (or ebook). 20 pages in and I found misspelling, bad grammar and no interest at all to research. For example he calls a SigP226 a sniper rifle when in fact it is a 9mm/sig357/40 cal S&W hand gun. Large type, blank pages between 2 1/2 page chapters? Not worth even paperback price.

Totally disagree, after so many co-authored books that were flops in my opinion, this one gets back on track with the on-going saga of Alex Cross and it fits in with the series even though it has 3 mini-stories but the main theme is being called out on the night of a holiday he misses spending with his family

Oh Please! this book was advertised as a novel not a 3 totally unrelated short stories. I also discovered this is not a new book, it was offered by Barns & Noble last year. False advertising is the least of the problems with this book. Rip off! So big deal Cross can't spend Christmas eve with his family, big boo-hoo. Not worth the 15 bucks charged for this rip-off. The family whining about this is not entertaining...

When I think about "Along Came a Spider", "Kiss the Girls", and "Jack & Jill" compared with his novels of today, I have to agree with you that it is time to hang it up. Those early novels hooked me but I have not been as pleased with Patterson in quite some time.
