5.0 out of 5 stars Another fascinating investigation by Krakauer!, January 2, 2012
This review is from: Three Cups of Deceit: How Greg Mortenson, Humanitarian Hero, Lost His Way (Paperback)
Another very well-researched Krakauer expose of coverup and deceit (see also his exhaustively detailed Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tilman). The moral of the story is that when it sounds too good to be true, it is. A fantastic read, I read it through in one sitting. I think it is a very fair treatment of Greg Mortenson, who fooled many many sincere people, including Krakauer, into donating to his charity to support his high-living lifestyle. Remember Tami Faye and Jim Bakker, anyone? I highly recommend all of Jon's books - I think I've read them all in sequence. Each one is extremely well-crafted, carefully researched, and you will learn a LOT about the subject.

Childlike...I congratulate you on selecting a screen name that is spot on...one who is naive, easily manipulated.
