This review is from: Bull Street (Paperback)
Bull Street has characters and plot turns that you think are stranger than fiction. Then you think about Wall Street (I've been there) and realize you can't make this stuff up because it happens. Imagine crooks in pinstripes schmoozing you out of your money while they thumb their noses at you when you turn your back. Imagine a firm bilking billions out of it's clients and using every dirty trick to cover it up. Even murder. Imagine a bunch of supposed masters of finance abusing their privileged position for their own profit. You can't? Then where were you in 2007-2008 when the world almost went bust?
This is a story of the characters that made that happen, presented in an enjoyable thriller that breaks new ground in creating a new genre: the financial thriller. Legal thrillers were an oxymoron before John Grisham. Financial thrillers didn't even show up to be considered boring until a few authors wrote boring stories (non-fiction like Michael Lewis excluded). Read this. I'll turn your head and turn you on to this new genre.
