Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Le Creuset Classic Enameled Cast-Iron 6-Piece Cookware Set, Satin Dune (Kitchen)I bought the Dune set on a lightning deal. The 5.5 qt oven had a pitting problem. Two deep pits on the bottom interior surface and many minor pits on the outside. It would be a second in the Le Creuset outlet. I contacted Amazon and they were great and sent out a replacement set, not only the oven. The second set had one pit mark on the interior side of the 5.5 qt so I keept it and sent the rest of the second set back with the first pitted 5.5 qt oven. It was a pain since the box weighs 40 pounds. Amazon did well by me but Le Creuset needs better quality control.
P.S. I lost out on the bonus since I had to order lightning fast to get the deal, so be prepared if you are tracking this set for a deal.

Leslie Estes says:
I ordered the 3.5 at wide oven and it also arrived with pits. Amazon replaced it so I was about to order the 9 QT French Oven and one of these sets. I read one of the 9 Qt reviews of someone who got a lemon: the bottom is flaking after just a few months - She purchased a "second" at their store and it probably did not have a complete seal which is what worries me about the pitting. My first thought was, so what? It has a lifetime warranty. But the reviewer said CS was very rude and also insisted she return the pot at her own expense and they would review the problem. Are they kidding?? The cost of shipping these things is very pricey -- and they will "review" it??
I am now thinking of checking out Staub and Kirkland, but I'm not sure I like the chrome knobs. Both brands are made in France, which I like. But I'm going to call all three of these companies to learn more about their warranty's. Seriously, at these prices, they better have some GREAT customer service!
Anyone have any warranty issues with Le Creuset, Staub, or Kirkland they would like to share?
