Garmin Nuvi mount with upgraded speaker.,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Garmin 010-11478-00 Powered Suction Cup Mount with Speaker (Electronics)
The size of the mount is identical to the one that came with the 3790. I panicked when I opened it thinking there was no difference and that I wasted my money, (or least the shipping to send it back); but There Is a Difference! Careful inspection inside the slotted speaker cover reveals an entirely different speaker assembly.
Performance is superior. Voices are now intelligible regardless of which one you choose, and I think, (imagine?), that there is even an increase in the volume without changing the Nuvi volume setting. This could be due to the fact that the voice output is less distorted. The Only time we had trouble hearing it was when we got into a hot car and the a/c came on full force. I highly recommend this product.

How does the Bluetooth work? BT on my 3490lmt is currently useless with the stock mount.

As I recall, I never connected the GPS to my phone or the car via BT. But trying to think this through, how would the mount factor into BT functionality?

my issue is sound quality. I cannot hear calls clearly nor can the person on the other end. So I assume this would be a factor....

Ah, yes, I see your point. But I cannot advise you, and I'm sorry for wasting your time. I never used mine for making calls. It is a new speaker assembly though, and improved the quality of the spoken directions tremendously. I hope someone else can help address your question.

Well, thank you. I found the item page in the Garmin store, maybe this'll help:
