Better than expected,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nikon COOLPIX L28 20.1 MP Digital Camera with 5x Zoom Lens and 3" LCD (Red) (OLD MODEL) (Camera)
After reading previous reviews I was leery about buying the Coolpix L28. But, I really like my Coolpix L120 so I thought I'd take a chance on the L28 because I needed something really portable. I made sure that I ordered a memory card that is rated at class 10. The slower cards (class 4, etc) will take somewhat longer to snap and store a picture. Wait times with my class 10 card are only about a second or 2 at most. Pictures I've taken so far are reasonably sharp and colors are true. My PC recognized the camera immediately without installing Nikon software and it was easy to move pictures onto my HD. The high resolution of the L28 means pictures can be enlarged considerably. For closeup I snapped a picture of a printed page at about 5 inches and the type was perfectly clear. It is true that the L28 doesn't do as well in a dark room as my L120. Pictures are a bit grainy, but normal room lighting produces good results. In my opinion, for people who want a snapshot camera that is small and portable and reasonably priced, the Coolpix L28 is a good choice.

Bill Peter says:
There's suspicion of these comments being written by Nikon and Canon product marketing people.

Nope, not true Bill. I am a private owner of the Coolpix L28. I stand by my review. Jim

Oh, you are very wrong, Cactus Jim. Just because you are a "private" owner, whatever that means, of the Coolpix L28 and you "stand by your review" does NOT mean that what Bill is saying, somehow oddly, cannot be true. There could very easily, clearly, and obviously be suspicion that some of these comments, are, indeed, written by Nikon and Canon product marketing people, no doubt, for you Cactus Jim, are only one single person, and you DO NOT represent every single comment review that is written up on Amazon about cameras NOR do you know every single person who writes up a comment review on Amazon, obviously. The fact that you claim to be some "private owner" of the Coolpix L28 and that you "stand by your review" does not prove a damn thing. Yeah, guess what Cactus Jim? I am also a private owner of the Coolpix L28, and I also stand by my review! So what!? That does not mean that someone from the Nikon or Canon company cannot come out here and write up a comment review, which very likely they are and do often. You, Cactus Jim, would NEVER EVEN KNOW if and when Nikon and Canon people come out here and write up comment reviews, anyways. I mean, what do you think, that you can take us all for stupid here, Jim? What do you think, that we were all just born yesterday or something?? I mean, seriously, Jim, come on!!

Cactus Jim says:
Brandon, of course my review could be written by a Nikon rep, but then yours could be written by someone just ranting negativety. We don't have any way to prove that online do we. Your rant is just as subject to lack of proof as mine. Maybe you are someone who likes to rant. Can you prove you are not?
