Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 [Download] [Old Version] (Software Download)
I know Adobe made this product for the professional photographer, but it is also great for the amateur photographer. I would say that it is "especially" useful for the amateur photographer. It is user friendly, very intuitive, very short learning curve, and your photos come out looking great.
The reason it is good for the amateur photographer is because the software lets you know what the photo is lacking, you have the tools to make the change if you want to, or even, make changes that surprise even you. Without knowing it, you are training your eye and as you continue to shoot pictures, you subconsciously are crafting your photo shoots for a better photo. After my first three weeks with this software, my photos improved exponentially! I even entered some photos in a photo contest!
The point is, for amateur photographers, this will improve your quality of photos before you get to the software, and that is the main point. Money well invested.

This is my first experience purchasing LR and it is an upgraded version. Some how I missed that. I looked back at the LR for sale again and I still don't see where it says upgrade. I purchased it thinking it was a full version. Therefore, it's working as a trial version and will expire. Adorama, will not take it back because I opened it. I bought it from Amazon's site, but technically it's an Adorama issue. I'm so disappointed and hope someone could advise me. I bought it to learn how to edit properly. It was another think on my to do list...get editing software. Did I waste my money on something I can't use? Do I have to buy the full version and just forget about the money I wasted and view it as a learning curve? Help anyone!

I bought the full version and it is worth the money. I don't know what the trial version does so I can't encourage you there. The full version has made my friends think that I am really great on shooting photos. I saw no need to bog them down with information about Lightroom. I purchased the product and studied some of Adobe's tutorials online and I was set. It corrrects every foible that I manage to capture. Once you master Lightroom your photo shooting skills will have also improved. At that point you can think about purchasing Photoshop... because by then you should be selling your skills. Have fun.
