4.0 out of 5 stars Like him or not, He's in the SNL upper echelon., June 11, 2005

This review is from: Saturday Night Live - Best of Jimmy Fallon (DVD)
I honestly think that they should do a better job screening some of the reviews that are posted on this website. Those who give this DVD one or two stars are being way too unrealistic. I must admit, when Jimmy Fallon became a regular on the show, I didn't think him to be too funny, but over the years I've grown to find him very funny. He has his own brand of comedy, And he didn't borrow it from Adam Sandler! Some of you "critics" need to step back and analyze things with less of your black & white opinions and more rational, educated critique. If you like Jimmy Fallon you'll like the DVD, if you don't you probrably won't. All in all, it's well done. Props to Fallon.

Schmegmo says:
Here's an educated critique...Jimmy Fallon is NOT FUNNY!!!...He is an embarassment to the SNL legacy. "Oh, so what if he laughs at his own jokes...it's his style." That's garbage. He is unprofessional, and probably has relation that works for the production. I have never found him funny, nor will I ever. I always noticed the laughing at himself crap, but until it was pointed out, I didn't notice that he's always looking at the camera. What a little attention whore. I guess he is just a representation of what our 'new' generation considers funny. Farley and Sandler weren't geniuses as someone else pointed out, but they were professional and FUNNY. The people who find this funny are probably the same morons who find Family Guy's unrelating comedy appealing. Or perhaps that adult swim crap like Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Who decided that intelligence and comedy cannot be mixed anymore? Even in a political satire show such as the Colbert Report, some of the jokes are just as mindless as George Bush himself. But hey,...when we have 50 Cent living in a mansion, it kind of shows you the intelligence of our country. (US Atleast). Sad....sad......sad.
