I gave this corset five stars because it's pretty and appears to be well made for something that only cost $16. I followed the provided size chart and the corset fits perfectly if I just want to wear it as part of a costume or to accessorize my wardrobe. It would not, however, work very well for waist training unless your waist to hip ratio is pretty low. Plus, you would need to buy a size smaller than recommended. I have a 31 inch waist, so I bought an XL (as per the chart). When completely closed the XL is about 29 inches on the inside and 31 inches on the outside. When I first put it on I was able to close it up quite easily with only a 2 inch gap in the back. After about an hour, I cinched it up and was able to close the corset up completely. I would have liked to cinch the waist in farther, but I can see that if I bought the size smaller then the top and bottom of the corset would be way too tight, unless I laced it up unevenly, which is not a good idea to do with corsets. The front of the corset is 12 inches, which made it a little hard for me to sit down in, but I am a bit short waisted. So, while the corset didn't fit me quite the way I'd hoped, it is still a very nicely made corset and you really can't beat the price.
