Hits the spot,
This review is from: Numark DJ I/O Multi Channel USB 2.0 DJ Audio Interface (Electronics)My DJing needs were pretty minimal; I wanted to use PC software to mix outputs via an external source. The DJ I/O filled that need perfectly. This box is relatively inexpensive, it's compact and I found it very easy to install and use with open source mixing software.

Which DJ software did you use ? MIXXX ? I could not get my Hercules MK2 working with Linux and I am looking for an alternative.

Does the DJIO allow you to use a standard mixer to control your software in terms of pre-listening, fading, etc? You don't need a MIDI connection to use the mixer with the software, do you? Is it truly as simple as it looks? plug DJIO into laptop via USB, run RCAs out of DJIO into each channel of physical mixer and you're ready to go?
