A pain to operate,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Samsung BD-D6700 3D Blu-ray Disc Player (Silver) [2011 MODEL] (Electronics)
After reading up on the unit and checking reviews I thought I would give it a go. Price was the upper end of what I wanted to spend. Features are nice, image is outstanding with Blu Ray discs, looks good but is a pain to operate. After going through all the settings to make sure something was on that shouldn't be or visa versa it still takes two to three tries to get the unit on and provide a signal to the TV. The order of having the TV on, the digital receiver and the Samsung is apparently important although I still don't think I have it right.
Many times I will turn on the Samsung after turning on the TV and not get any signal to the TV. So I turn everything off and start over. Sometimes it takes three tries to get the unit to provide a signal to the TV (an one year old LG). Other times the Samsung has locked up - it will not respond to the remote or the face controls, till I unplug it and start over. Once it is working it is fine but the start up is maddening. I have made sure that the setting for integrating with a Samsung TV is off, if that setting is on it is almost impossible to get a signal to the TV. It took a number of tries to get the unit to read our wireless access, but is now working fine.
If this kind of operational headache is typical of this unit, then buy something else.
