This review is from: LCM Home Fashion 6-Bar Freestanding Towel Warmer, Drying Rack (Kitchen)
We originally bought a towel warmer as we were looking for a free standing holder rather than towel bars. I found a towel warmer on sale so decided to try it. Our Warm Rails towel warmer died 5 years later after a power surge. Although it never heated the towel really hot, what we appreciated were dry, non-musty smelling towels. In the few days following the power surge, our towels were never dry. As I began reading reviews for another towel warmer, the price and reviews made me decide to try this particular brand.
It gets quite hot and I do wish it had controls for different heating levels and a little more weight, which is why I gave it only a 4. We leave it on all the time except when we will be gone from home overnight or longer. Our electric bill is slightly higher this month, but as usage fluctuates I am not sure the $4 is due to this unit or something else. The towels are warmest where the towel is next to the rod. Layering your towel--or in other words, folding the towel several times before placing over the rod, the warmer it will be throughout the towel. Most of us are used to only folding the towel once so it will dry on a towel bar. Some of the products show towels hanging on their product. You will notice they are folded in half, then in half again, then draped over the heated rod. It is more effective.
We are generally pleased with the purchase but would have liked to have a rubbed oil brass color (not an option). The satin nickel does not go well in our bath, but the warm, dry towels more than make up for the decorative effect. We would recommend.
