Starbucks needs to change its decor once in a while and make their cafes a little cozier, like Caribou Coffee; I always get a "cold" feeling when I walk into a Starbucks.
Starbucks has tasty treats but when the store is busy you cannot see what food is offered as the food case is always blocked by the line of people waiting to order. This is too bad, because Starbucks has the best sandwiches and desserts in the coffee biz.
Lastly, Starbucks does not have the staff that Caribou Coffee does (to be honest, it's not even a Caribou versus Starbucks issue for me; I think Caribou Coffee has the best customer service across all industries, right up there with Nordstrom. The staff at Caribou are always extremely friendly, have a smile on their face and just have the best customer service. I always get the feeling the people there really like their job, whereas at Starbucks most of the time I get the feeling that for the workers "it's just a job." or they would rather be anywhere but there to serve you.
What's good about Starbucks? The drinks, great mug designs (always new designs coming out) and their food.
I did enjoy seeing Schulz profiled on "CBS Sunday Morning" a few weeks ago; he seems like a conscientious person in private and as a CEO -- wish there were more like that.
