Thinner than expected, but very nice socks,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Since these socks were 95% cotton, I was expecting them to be a bit thicker. I bought them to wear for a trip out West, so I just wore these thinner socks under thicker crew socks. They gave me enough coverage of my calves to keep me comfortable. I would love to hear from someone who can steer me to the type of knee socks I remember from my youth!

If you can find socks like the "old-time" knee highs, let me know. I've searched for about 3 years, buying quite a few different types, and still haven't found any that I like.

Try Lands End's school uniform socks. Unfortunately they don't come in black.

Gold Toe has the best socks I've ever worn, but they don't seem to be available via their website. I bought all of mine at Dillard's... might be available in Macy's if you don't have a Dillard's where you live. I've found that they typically carry a lot of the same things.
