Poor blu-ray transfer,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (Extended Version) [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)I love the movie, but this is just another Warner Brothers standard DVD transfer. Says 1080p HD on the case, but it is just barely better than original DVD. Not even close to being on par with newer blu-ray DVD's. Save your money and wait for a digitally remastered version in HD. Hang onto your old DVD, I didn't.

You know, I certainly hope that more people would see your review and thumb it up for more visibility. I didn't see your review until I bought and opened the Blu Ray disc (can't return it now). This is not High Definition. The picture quality is grainy, and blurry. My DVD version look almost as good as this. Very bad Blu Ray transfer! AVOID AT ALL COST!

I own the "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (Extended Version) [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)", and I didn't think it was a 1 star product. It isn't full 1080P quality, but few are. On my setup(Sharp 60" 1080P with PS3) the video quality switches back and forth between blu-ray and DVD qualities where the blu-ray quality clearly isn't supported. Far less noticeable than heavy grain though. I'd say the blu-ray is worth getting over the DVD for the extra couple bucks. If you already have the DVD, I probably wouldn't recommend upgrading unless there's a sale. If you don't own it at all, I doubt they'll have a remastered version of this that's much better quality than what you'll see on this, so you might as well get it. It is a pretty good movie.
