Loved this album from Intro to "The Last Song". It will (and has obviously based on some of these reviews) turn off some of Yela's hardcore fan base who expected Trunk Muzik 2.0 and nothing but Chevy cruisin' tracks (of which there are still some on here- like "Get Away", and Made in the U.S.A.
What I like about this album is it has a little of everything:
***LOUD & heavy speaker blastin' songs like "Growing up in the Gutter" and "Throw it Up". Very, very interesting collabos that somehow worked out flawlessly.
***Deep instrospective songs like "I See You" (Deluxe version only), "The Last Song", and "Write Your Name"
***Club Bangers like Hard White & Throw it Up & "Animal"
***Lady/Radio friendly tracks like "Radio", "Everything I Love the Most", and "Hardest Love Song in the World".
Just an all-around great album. Like that ol' song says, "you can't please everyone, you got to please yourself". I think Yelawolf is very pleased with what he and Em produced and this album will stand the test of time just as Trunk Muzik will. Thank heavens for rappers like Yelawolf, Rittz, Lupe, and Nas... we know that rap is still alive and well.
I give it 5/5. Can't for for the next LP.
