This review is from: Long Way Home: A Young Man Lost in the System and the Two Women Who Found Him (Hardcover)
I first heard of the book listening to Rick Kogan on WGN radio. Easy to read and engaging. Prologue set reader up nicely. Having heard Caldwell and Mosley, on the radio was the hook. Seems everybody's caught between a rock and a hard place trying to do their job from the cops to the legal system. Then there's the inmates that vary in degrees from warm to cold blooded. The system is a hard thing to digest when it seems to all come down to whose story you believe when you can envision what happened but there's no video camera capturing the event. This part of the story was conveyed well. I think the simple observation expressed by one juror to another that turned the verdict was amazing. Looking forward to the movie.
