Puts you in the position of being a starship captain.
The game is easy to learn.
Game mechanic is simple yet provides enough to create rich gameplay.
Graphics are also simple and just enough to communicate what's necessary.
You make moral decisions in the game. E.g. You wonder whether you're better off ignoring a distress signal or take the risk of it being an ambush.
You only get 1 ship, and if you die along the way the entire game is over. This is rather effective as a means to heighten the tension during battles- especially ones where your demise is inevitable and all you can do is watch your crew suffocate, for example.
Works perfectly on my Macbook Pro with Intel HD3000 graphics.
The moral decisions don't seem to have long term consequences (as far as I can tell). If you let a pirate go, will they harass you less in the future? No- which is too bad. Because if it did this game would really be groundbreaking.
You only get 1 ship, and if you die along the way the entire game is over. Can be frustrating for people who don't have a lot of time to play games.
I imagine this would make an excellent game on iOS or Android. It has a mini-game feel that seems perfect for that platform.
