This book sucked me in from the beginning. The way that Taylor is practically an adult at 15 and has had to be for a very long time, I really felt for her when her mother died even though she wasn't exactly a paragon of virtue. Taylor really stood out to me because even though she felt like she was floundering and there was nobody she could count on she did her best to stay true to herself. It was written in such a way to make it seem believable and even though this book was filled with flawed characters I felt that there was something in each of them good and redeeming in each of them. I liked that at the end Taylor had to learn to forgive and let herself move forward. She had to learn to be happy with herself and she gained a family in the process.
