video playback needs work,

let me start off by saying ilove my kindlefire and all it does. ialso want to say that nitpicky posts tend to rub me the wrong way, so when isay that video playback on the device is awful you should know that it.s a heartbreak and completely true.
on both amazonprime and netflix playback there is popping, stopping, lack of sync, crashing, and lagging. ihave used both a laptop and a smartphone on the same movie to make sure it wasn.t a website server problem, or wifi problem for that matter. it played just fine on both devices.
ihope that this review and others along the same lines will cause an update to be created soon. i.ll keep checking in, but as of right now, ihave to stick with my other video options and recommend that you do the same.

I agree with the video playback. I have great bandwidth and the quality is okay, but the audio and video is out of sync. Everything else with the Fire is great.
