This is not a review. I think everything has been said. They are really good headphones.
I had the problem of not hearing my own voice. Holding the mute for 1 beep or 2 beeps didn't work and there are no settings in the XMB for sidetone for this model. Searching the internet just brought back the same result of holding the mute button. For some it worked, for some it didn't.
So i started to think about it. How exactly does your own voice get back into the headphone while in online multiplayer, because that's the only time you will be able to hear your own voice. Well, my logic told me that your voice goes out of your ps3, out of your router, to the server where the game is hosted and them comes back from the server, into your router, gets routed to your ps3 and then it's fed to your headset. Other players could here me just fine but i just wasn't getting my own voice back. So i thought this could be a problem with comm ports used by the servers of a given game. I took a look at my router and the UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) was turned off. I turned it on and now the i can hear my own voice in the headset. My voice was coming back before but it didn't get past the router because the necessary port for it to get to the ps3 was closed. Turning on the UPnP allowed the ps3 to automaticaly open/close any necessary ports needed. I turned the UPnP back off again just to check, and yep, my voice wasn't coming through. Turned it back on again an everything worked just fine.
The sidetone holding mute 1 beep = low, 2 beeps = high, long beep = off is not very loud on the high position but it does work.
Hope this is of some help!

Thanks for your post. I have UPnP enabled on both my router and PS3, but I'm still not getting a sidetone. Followed all instructions and even called support, but they were less knowledgeable than I am on this issue. Any other advice to getting this feature to work?
