Good for the price, bass is nice. Too bad it won't link with Samsung TV and turn up/down with TV volume, you have to use its own remote to adjust volume separate from TV. It might do it via bluetooth, but this should be a feature that automatically knows its hooked to a Samsung TV linked via optical cord. TV volume and soundbar volume are always on, the TV sound does not cut off. Soundbar option allows it to come on when TV turned on, and shuts itself off after 20m when the TV turns off. The sound is strong, really helps add depth. It fits a 40" Samsung TV nicely, cannot really see it as it blends well at the bottom of the TV.

On the 2012 40" Samsung UN40ES6100 that I have (and presumably most other Samsung models made around this time), the volume of the external audio output (either analog or digital) cannot be adjusted on the TV set. IMO, this is a significant drawback, but it's not too uncommon for the digital audio output. However, many other brands allow users to set whether the external analog audio output does or does not vary with the TV's volume setting, which makes it a lot easier to use a simple amplified speaker setup that does not have its own remote. The Samsung UN40ES6100 and many other similar models have rear mounted speakers that point down (evidently a compromise to fit into the available space), and the audio quality from those speakers suffers because of it.
However, as far as "TV volume and soundbar volume are always on, the TV sound does not cut off" that is only if you do not select "external speakers" in the sound control settings, at least that's the way it is on the 2012 Samsung set mentioned above.
