It is a miracle!,
This review is from: The Metabolism Miracle: 3 Easy Steps to Regain Control of Your Weight . . . Permanently (Hardcover)
For years I tried all kinds of diets saying to myself they should work if I really follow the rules, but they didn't. I thought I failed. Yet deep down I knew there was more to it. I'm not that lazy, yet the scale said otherwise. Then I learned about The Metabolism Miracle...and it is a miracle. In very clear language Diane Kress explains why my physiology doesn't fit the mold of all those other diets. She tells me why I am different and why those other diets will never work for me; something I knew but didn't understand. And it's backed up by fact based on Diane's research and physiology of the human body. A lot this has been known for a long time, yet no one has put the puzzle together like Diane has before. The book is full of information on how my body's metabolism works. The book explains each phase of the program in easy to follow steps and how your body will react to each step and it's full of data supporting each phase. In reading the book it seemed like there was an answer to each possible question - what if I slip (there's a plan to get back on track); what types of foods can I eat (not only are there sample menus, there are pages and pages of recipes); what do I do if I go out to eat; etc, etc. The book will be a reference book for me for years to come. I really am excited that I've found where I belong.

If you are able to advise where I can find low-fat half-and-half or light cream I would truly appreciate it. I have started this diet today and am looking forward to the results and feeling better. Thanks for your help.

Hi Ro, I'm not Beth but I am on this diet and you can have regular half and half in phase 1. But our local Dominick's has light cream. I use that too in my coffee. It's been three weeks and I am down ten pounds but the best part is that I feel so much better. It's easier getting up off the couch and my clothes are loose. I have a long way to go but I am glad to be on this path. Welcome to the plan! HR

Thanks for the info on the light cream. I still have not been able to find it so I'm using half and half as you mentioned. 10 lbs in 3 weeks is unbelievable. I've been on it almost 5 weeks and I've lost 4 lbs. I was a little discouraged until Diane reminded me that this is all about insulin and not the typical weight loss diet. In the blog section of her book, the weight loss table says I'm on track for someone of my build. I'm feeling good and looking better and I'm not going to quit. I promised Diane that I would not weigh myself again until the 8th week so, I haven't stepped on the scale in about 5 days. Congratulations to you also and thanks for writing me.
Ro :):) (PS: I like the support of other people on the plan. It's a good approach.)

Land o' Lakes has a low-fat and fat-free half-and-half. If your grocery store doesn't carry it, ask them to! Usually, they are happy to oblige.

Make that MANY agains, H. He does this everywhere he goes in the forums, and likely in his sad and pathetic life, too.
I've read the book and am doing well on the program. Slow and steady wins the race!

Does anybody know if this diet will work for someone that has several of the listed problems? If south beach worked for me before, but I like this outline better, will I still lose?
