Page-turner (writing) but shop-worn (themes),
This review is from: A Hologram for the King (Hardcover)
The pacing and the writing are lively. I read this book in one sitting. The story is entertaining, but the book's themes are a mash-up of Death of a Salesman and Waiting for Godot. Eggers doesn't express any original thinking about these themes, but his prose is direct, clean, plot-driven. The book is certainly worth a try.
