This review is from: BonJour Coffee Ami-Matin 8-Cup French Press, Black (Kitchen)
In our household, we have a tendency to break French Press glass carafes like they're free. Well, they're not and although I am fond of the cheap Ikea press, the nearest Ikea is over an hour and a half away. I ordered this in hopes that it would be like our old press, just unbreakable. The container is unbreakable but within weeks of owning it a piece of the press broke. Fortunately, Amazon has great customer service and they traded my broken one for a new one. Still, I'm not all that impressed with the design. The press has little holes for the filter parts that are partially covered, making pressing down a chore and for some reason the design allows a lot of the grounds to sneak up during the pressing. The spout has a filter to catch any of these pesky loose grounds from making their way into your mug but still I get some every time. I think next time I go to Ikea, I'll just stock up on a few of their presses.
Update: After our second one broke, we have lost all faith in this product. Once again, the press part broke but in a different way. The entire plastic on the bottom of the press cracked in half. I like the idea of an unbreakable carafe but what's the harm in making it have a nice press? I would pay a little more to have that! It's obviously just a piece of plastic junk and my coffee deserves better.
