Better food, better brain,
This review is from: The Happiness Diet: A Nutritional Prescription for a Sharp Brain, Balanced Mood, and Lean, Energized Body (Hardcover)
I bought this book because of the can't-miss cover and title, and I'm extremely impressed by the authors' insights. If basically comes down to this line from the intro, when the authors are explaining how the Standard American Diet (SAD) has destroyed generations of human traditions: "This book wants to reforge that link to a tradition of eating that has always produced healthy, happy people whenever good food has been in abundance." I've read a lot of books about food in the past few years, and this is really the first one to draw a link between our mouths and our brains. Best of all, it tells you how to apply their insights into your daily life, which is SO much better than those annoying rants lots of authors go on without ever telling you how to actually benefit. These are such simple changes -- buying grass-fed beef and free-range eggs, for instance -- that you'd be crazy not to make them. Take charge of the food you eat and change your life!
