Catagorizing Lemon Jelly is a near impossible task. They are a little bit of this, a third of that, with just a dash of obtuse weirdness for flavoring. The label they seem to get tagged with (along with similarly-minded Bent) most often is 'Merchants of Chill'. So, not really music designed to dance to, but more for the come-down...
This is one of the Jelly's tunes from their first album. Pretty basic tune built up from what sounds like one of those circa-60's 'How to...' records with a bizarre little groove laid across it.
A fun little slab of funkiness that just kinda bubbles along nicely.
If you like this, definately check out their album 'Lost Horizons'. Unlike the first album that this tune is from(which is still pretty ace), 'Lost Horizons' is the more cohesive as-an-album of the two and is frickin' incredible.
Also see Bent's 'the Everlasting Blink', just released domesticaly. It is also very, very good and rides the same vein.
