1.0 out of 5 stars Dont Buy for Comcast or Xfinity, March 22, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: NETGEAR DOCSIS 3.0 - High Speed Cable Modem (CMD31T) (Personal Computers)
Bought it for my the comcast cable internet. Comcast has certified this. And the box in which this comes boldly displays the certified by comcast mark.
But It barely worked I kept having troubles like losing connection and finally one day it completely stopped working.
The Comcast technician who visited my place told me many other people faced the same problem with this one but Comcast refused to officially remove this from the list of certified modems.
Finally now I am using a surfboard and it does not have any problem.

NETGEAR Team says:
(MANUFACTURER)
Hello just a buyer,

Recently Comcast upgraded their systems to IPV6 in select areas, which caused the Internet connection to fail for a small percentage of our customers. We have been in touch with Comcast the last few days, and since then they have rolled back to the older system and all customers should be online. We are working with Comcast to ensure that such situations are avoided and our software running on the modem is able to negotiate any future upgrades to their systems.

Regards,

NETGEAR Team

If your equipment doesn't support IPv6, that's a really good reason to consider it a Lemon. IPv6 has been in the works for decades at this point. If your equipment is not IPv6 ready, then I'm not interested.

It does not work with Comcast. I have the same issues as the other customers. No support from Netgear and the product is over 90 days old. Very disappointed in this product.

I have this modem, and Comcast, and have had zero issues with it.

I have had it for almost a year now.
