Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Manfrotto MKC3-H01 Compact Photo-Movie Kit (Black) (Camera)
I have this tripod for ~2 weeks now and I mount a Canon T2i and a 15-85mm lens on it.
This is not bad. Not the sturdiest tripod, but light and relatively smooth to operate. For ~ $60 I am pretty happy with it and it is a lot better than what I saw at the same price!
I do not recommend to extend all the sections... the last one is pretty thin.
I do not recommend to mount long lenses. The tripod is light and probably won't be that stable with a big zoom (70-200mm and above).
EDIT after two years :
I still use this tripod. It never failed me. I have used it in rivers, at the beach and in the desert and still works great! I have since my t2i upgraded to a 5D and a 7D camera. I have used this tripod with these camera mounted with the Canon 24-105L F4, Canon 17-55 F2.8 and Canon 300L F4 IS. If you carefully place a leg directly under your lens to support the weight, the tripod is pretty stable (I always stay close, just in case ;) ). With these heavier combo it is difficult to adjust precisely the composition. The head has a tendency to shift the camera when you lock it.
I am very happy with it.
