1.0 out of 5 stars Broke my iPad, May 26, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Twelve South (12-1114) HoverBar for iPad 2 (Personal Computers)
The product's gripper is really badly made and hard to remove your iPad from it. After carefully trying to remove my iPad from the tight grip, a piece of plastic from my LTE iPad broke off.
Maybe this won't happen with non LTE/3G iPads since they don't have the plastic bit, but regardless I am pretty damn upset!

Isn't this product made only for the iPad 2? It states so right in the product's name: HoverBar for iPad 2. If you have LTE, that means you have the new iPad, which is larger than the iPad 2 and consequently doesn't work properly with accessories that are made specifically for the iPad 2. Sorry your iPad broke, but user error comes to mind on this one.

Unless the model and name/description have been updated since this post, this product both here and at Twelve South's web site is supposed to be compatible with the latest gen ipad (i.e. ipad 3). Another reviewer had the same issue with their ipad 2 3g. So, the problem appears to be with either model/gen ipad and their cover for whichever cellular antenna.

The twelve south page has been updated to state "Now fits iPad 2 and New iPad." Prior to this, it stated it was ONLY for iPad 2. Additionally, if you read the name of the product being reviewed when it was reviewed (look in the original product name in this thread), it is the HoverBar FOR IPAD 2. Newer versions of the product are designed to fit both iPad models.

Since the criticism seems both unwarranted with other users having the same issue with AN IPAD 2, and is now irrelevant regardless, I thought it'd be helpful information. The point is that the issue might still exist regardless of which model ipad (2 or "3") the HoverBar was/is listed as compatible with, then or now.
