1.0 out of 5 stars "Huge classics fan" but this was a total bore., August 1, 2010

This review is from: Guys and Dolls (DVD)
I love thousands of old movies. I love movies like The Philadelphia Story, or His Girl Friday, or Stage door, n Who's Coming to Dinner, they all have fantastic dialog!! *As far as musicals I found Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Meet Me in St Louis, Oliver, and even White Christmas ++ completely charming!! The Sound of Music is one of my favorites! I own most of these and re-watch them over and over.

With that being said, I just saw this movie Guys and Dolls at an outdoor venue and the dialogue was dreadful, the dance scenes were so cheesy, the storyline was so unbelievably boring, singing not great, and the characters mostly unlikable. I found myself praying that this would be over soon so I could get my ride home and could go to sleep. No coolness factor, no sweet lovable charm, slow on the scenes and unlikable characters.. What more can I say but don't buy this unless you 100% know you love this. I did not.

I know I'm going to be a lone reviewer but, I had to say my truth.

I totally agree. I have tried to watch it twice now and I don't care for it at all. Glad I didn't pay a ton of money for it.

You are right. I thought the movie was so bad that I couldn't believe I saw it.
