I have mixed feelings about this book. Some things were good, like the heroine's spirit the growing attraction between them. But at times it seemed that passion is all there is between them. And the fact that he would kill her if his king told him to didn't help. How could a woman fall in love if she knew that any day the man she is falling in love with might kill her? And then all the wounds and suffering. I know that those were troubled times, and in general I quite like the books that are set in that era, but this book was too crude at times. And the love scenes were sometimes too rough. I prefer a bit of gentleness.
