1.0 out of 5 stars TRUSTED ETON & WAS BURNED, November 6, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Eton NFR160WXB Microlink Self-Powered AM/FM/NOAA Weather Radio with Flashlight, Solar Power and Cell Phone Charger (Black) (Electronics)
After diligent searching,I bought the Eton FR160B. I left it untouched because after all the radio was designed for a power outage. Well 3 days ago we had a 3 day outage. I unpacked the radio and cranked it for 6 slid minutes just to be sure we get at least 15 minutes of news, Well after 34 seconds i abruptly stopped, I tried seven more times and it always stopped t 34 second. In the morning it in the bright direct sunlight.
Still only plays 34 seconds. My son tried several times with the same dismal results. Total waste of money and poor as I am-it hurts.

This sounds like a manufacturer defect...I think your saddening story emphasizes that we should test the item as soon as we get it. If it doesn't work, then return it to seller or use warranty (according to other reviewer, Eton is willing to replace things). So sorry you had to go through that :( Wish you all the best in the future though.

It sucks that you're poor, and it sucks that you spent your hard-earned money on something that didn't work for you. I wish #1 I could solve your money problems, and #2 that I recommend a product that works, but I'm still looking. Thanks for letting us know about your experience. Good luck to you!

It takes forever to get enough power to listen to even a few minutes of a baseball game and the AM radio went out right in the middle of a play off game. Useless piece of junk.
